We invite anyone who is interested to make use of the results of this survey in their own work, whether that
be for use in a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, government reports, institutional use, or even class assignments.
The most straightforward way to do so is to use the 1997 summary report,
which provides a wealth of data. Please be sure to use the appropriate
attribution, if you use this information. We have also developed a site designed specifically for use in scholarly research, that provides you full access to a broad range of resources, including the raw data. Included is a thorough explanation of the survey methodology, multiple versions of the data sets, and a data dictionary. If you are interested in using this information in your scholarly work, we invite you to submit a brief application of your interest. We ask for the following information:
